After 10 days spent on the Vultr 2GB $15 plan we switched today to the cheaper Vultr 1GB $7 plan (no data yet).
The performance on the 2GB plan has been stunning, beating 100% of the competition with an average response time of 23ms. This is 40% faster than the next fastest EC2 t2.small and that trial was already quite fast. At $15, it's just $5 more expensive than Ramnode and Linode 1GB plans. From a setup and management point of view, Vultr did quite well, the VM was up and running in less than 3 minutes, login instructions are clear and management operations were straightforward.
It will be interesting to see how the 1GB Vultr plan compares at less than half the price.
