IONOS cuts prices on all VPS plans and adds high RAM options

Last updated on

Last week, IONOS cut the prices of all its VPS instances by $5. That brings the cost of the VPS L, 2 cores 4GB instance down to $15/month. It's not the lowest price in the market but it's among the most affordable.

What about the performance? In the last IONOS VPS L trial that predates the price change, the final score was a solid 70 with good grades in all categories.

At the same time, IONOS is introducing new plans with high memory to CPU core ratios that they call "Memory optimized". The ratio is 3GB RAM for each vCore. Prices are basically the same per vCore as the standard VPS but you get 25% less storage in exchange for the extra RAM.

We just finished testing the VPS M RAM, 2 CPU cores with 6GB RAM and 80GB SSD. This is good performance all around for $15/month with disk IO speed and performance stability being the strongest areas. Network performance is lower as IONOS offers unlimited network transfers but caps bandwidth at 400Mbps.

All IONOS VPS plans are billed monthly and for some of them the first month is just $2. IONOS has datacenters in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany and Spain.
