dataforest cloud has launched Block Storage for its cloud servers. The service provides volumes that attach to a server as additional disks, so customers can increase their storage without upgrading to a larger plan.
The data on a volume stays intact when the server is reinstalled or deleted, and the volume can be moved to another server in the same location.
All volumes are triple-replicated on NVMe SSDs using Ceph. Each copy is kept on a different storage server, so a volume stays available even if a whole storage server fails. Two volume types are available in Frankfurt, Germany:
Both types are billed by the hour. Volumes range from 10 GB to 10 TB and can be expanded while in use. Each server supports up to 16 volumes. Customers manage volumes in the web console or through the public REST API.
