dataforest cloud gives developers, sysadmins and small teams full control over their infrastructure, as simple as possible. Its cloud servers, called Seeds, are live in seconds, fully self-service, and billed by the hour with no minimum term, so users pay for exactly what they run. Behind the platform is dataforest, an infrastructure company near Frankfurt with more than 15 years of hosting experience. It developed the cloud entirely in-house and runs it on its own network, its own DDoS mitigation and its own hardware in multiple data centers.

dataforest cloud has launched Block Storage for its cloud servers. The service provides volumes that attach to a server as additional disks, so customers can increase their storage without upgrading to a larger plan.
The data on a volume stays intact when the server is reinstalled or deleted, and the volume can be moved to another server in the same location.
All volumes are triple-replicated on NVMe SSDs using Ceph. Each copy is kept on a different storage server, so a volume stays available even if a whole storage server fails. Two volume types are available in Frankfurt, Germany:
- Standard with up to 5,000 IOPS and 300 MB/s for €0.08 net per GB per month
