Each fio test runs for 60 seconds using the libaio I/O engine, one job, and a queue depth of 32. Direct I/O is enabled (direct=1) and synchronous writes (O_SYNC) are disabled. Before each test, fio prepares a fresh file with sequential 1 MiB writes and a final fsync. The file is up to 40 GiB, reduced when disk space is limited to leave at least 1 GiB or 10% of available space free, whichever is larger. Preparation time is separate from the 60-second measurement, and the file is removed after each test.
